Night Hawk Updates
Monday, April 8 is the start of the fourth quarter. With the new quarter, HMS also has a new schedule for Night Hawk. Please keep in mind that Night Hawk will only run until Friday, May 31. Night Hawk will not continue in June. Click here to check out the Quarter 4 Night Hawk Schedule!
HMS 5K Run/Walk
Mark your calendars! HMS is hosting it's 8th Annual 5k Run/Walk for Mental Health Awareness on Saturday May 4th! This event raises awareness for the need to develop healthy coping strategies, including physical fitness, and creates opportunities for our Herndon children and families to access mental health supports. Seeds for Sale
HMS's Garden Hawk Time is selling home grown organic flower seeds as a fundraiser. All sales will help us get spring supplies and training in advanced garden techniques. These are grown using organic methods, harvested and packaged by students in recycled paper. Order through My School Bucks and seeds will be sent home with your student. Read more!
Communication to Parents and Students about the Momo Challenge and Digital Citizenship Resources
In Fairfax County schools, county agencies and families are working together to create an environment where children and youth can safely learn, work, and play. Similar to our message containing information about the 13 Reasons Why NETFLIX program and the Blue Whale Challenge, we are sending this communication to alert you to a recent rise in new games and social media challenges that encourage young people to participate in harmful behavior. Rising 7, 8, and 9 grade students have completed their course selections/requests online. You can see these selections through SIS StudentVUE or SIS ParentVUE. Please go in and confirm that your student’s requests are correct. If you don’t have a SIS ParentVUE account, please call the school’s office.
