Our 2020-21 school year and virtual learning page is where we will post updates and reminders from Principal Klena and the Herndon MS admin team to parents during this school year, as well as our virtual learning resources, that will help students and families. Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is reaching out to parents, encouraging them to send their children back to in-person learning this fall. Take a look at images on banners, yard signs, and social media that highlight exceptional programs available to students as FCPS returns strong.
Herndon Middle School: FLE Human Growth & Development
Our current FLE instructional schedule has our Human Growth and Development unit beginning June 1, 2021.
Parents/guardians who do not wish to have their child participate in FLE instruction may choose to opt their child out of any or all of the lessons. If you would like to opt your child out of one or more lessons, please fill out the form online
There is now a new Emergency Broadband Benefit available to eligible households through the Federal Communications Commission. This is a temporary benefit that will help to lower the cost of internet broadband service during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Find out more.
COVID-19 Vaccinations Available for Ages 12 and Up
As our community strives to achieve herd immunity, vaccinating children ages 12 and up is a critical step towards achieving that goal and will help to keep our schools healthy places to learn. We encourage everyone 12 years of age and older to get the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible. Many locations offer same-day appointments, and some even have walk in availability. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or another adult at all community vaccination sites.
