Reading Rally Book Exchange
Attention All Students: Our “Book It Into the New Year” Book Swap event is coming up. Here’s what you can do: Beginning NOW, bring in your gently used books to participate in a book exchange and get some new items for your bookshelf. Look for “Book It Into the New Year” collection boxes in the main office and the library and then make sure you sign your name to be included. The book swap will take place during Reading Rally on December 21 so start bringing in those books now!
Reading Rally is Coming!
Reading Rally is a chance to show our students the importance of reading and how much it is valued in our school. The Reading Committee at Herndon has planned a full-day of unique and fun reading activities, and we are so thankful to all of the teachers who actively demonstrate a love of reading. We will have a special guest author, Travis Dickason, who will also participate in “Cookies with the Author” where he will answer questions one-on-one with an exclusive group of students.
For students who want to go home together on the bus after school:
Bus Notes: a hand-written bus note, with parent’s signature, is required from both parents of the students making the request. A temporary bus pass will not be issued without the hand written notes from both families. These policies are in place for your child’s safety. Thank you for cooperation and understanding. Notes must be submitted to the office before the last block of the day.
