Herndon Helping Hands (H3)

How You Can Sign Up

Any student who is struggling with getting food during weekends and school holidays is eligible to receive food through Herndon Middle School’s H3 program (Herndon Helping Hands). Families can sign their student up for this program through their school counselor, school social worker, or school parent liaison. An electronic sign-up is also available here.

How the Program Works

H3 Bags of food items are distributed every Friday, or the last school day of the week, in the Resource Wing. Common food items include:

  • Bagged Beans
  • Packaged Rice
  • Canned Kidney or other beans
  • Cereal
  • Pasta
  • Canned tomatoes or tomato sauce
  • Canned Corn
  • Canned Fruits
  • Canned Soup/Ramen Noodles
  • Snack Packs
    • Granola bar, chips, trail mix,
    • cookies crackers, fruit snacks,
    • apple sauce
  • juice bags or boxes
  • milk(non-refrigerated boxes of white or chocolate)
  • Oatmeal packets
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Ravioli
